Agricultural Contracting
Agricultural contracting began in 2000 with the acquisition of a second-hand Grimme variant potato harvester, which was powered by one of father’s two John Deere tractors. The need to be able to plant and harvest the farm's potatoes at the correct time, field conditions permitting, saw the addition of some planting gear in 2001. The opportunity to take on more potato work in Herefordshire and summer work stacking and hauling bales in Lincolnshire saw a rapid increase in the contracting operation with the first John Deere tractor being bought in spring 2002. With our work dominated by potato and transport duties a Fendt vario was tried in early 2003. This was eventually purchased and the current fleet includes, amongst other machinery, three Fendt varios and a John Deere. Farming and contracting near home has grown to an extent where we are now sadly unable to go to north for our summer hoildays.

- Potato hauling (2x14 ton root trailers)
- Potato grading (screening and grading into boxes)

- Potato grading and bagging (washed or dirty 1.0-25.0-1000.0kg bagging)
- JCB loadall hire with driver. (c/w various attachments)
- Grass harrowing 12m machine
- Mowing 10 foot cut
- Hay tedding 8.7m (8 rotor)
- Raking grass or hay (single rotor)
- Trailed forage harvesting, full or part job (grass only)
- Small square baling, with or without flat 8 sledge
- Combining, JD2056 hill master, 18 foot cut
- 360 digger work (14 ton machine c/w various buckets)
- Mini digger hire / work (3 ton c/w 3 buckets, post hole borer and breaker)
- Muck spreading
- Power harrowing/combination Drilling
- Ploughing (5f vari width & auto reset)
- Concrete mixing (pan type mixer 0.75cu per mix)
- Stone/Rubble/Soil haulage with 14t dump trailer
